STEVENS, TRUSLER

artcheryl@earthlink.net Cheryl Trusler Wed Dec 11 00:04:58 1996
Searching for Nelson TRUSLER or wife Mary STEVENS. Nelson was listed in 1860 census for Commersville but not sure he is the right one as he appears to have different wife. Very unusual last name so it seems unreal that there would be two Nelson TRUSLERs, wife Mary STEVENS and at least one son William. ANY TRUSLER info would be helpful. They ran cattle at one time.

LARIMORE, another 4-Great-Grandfather, was a prominent merchant and miller in the Everton area in the 1820's/30's. Amos MILNER, my 5-Great-Grandfather, was also an early settler. GLIDEWELL

vijen@soca.com Vivian Jensen Mon Oct 21 06:59:37 1996
My g-grandfather Willard H. GLIDEWELL moved to Fayette co. in 1890. He was principal of the East Connersville schools 1890-1892, then a bookkeeper for Taylor & Enos a large manufacturing concern, after 1893 he became secretary of the firm. In 1894 he became the Editor of the Connersville Examiner. In 1895 he was elected superintendant of schools of Fayette co. for two years. What did Taylor & Enos manufacture? What information could I obtain from the county or school districts? Where should I write? Does the Connersville Examiner still exist? and would newspapers from 1994 be on microfilm anywhere?

LAMBERSON

pmiller1@mail.airmail.net Lori Ward Miller Sat Oct 19 17:48:12 1996
LAMBERSON's. I am looking for several, Thoroughgood LAMBERSON lived near Bentonville, he had five children, all born in Bracken County Kentucky, My Great-Great Grandfather Thomas was his youngest. I am trying to locate the names on Thoroughgood's forty-one grandchildren. Levi was a brother to Thoroughgood, he came to Indiana around 1835, purchased a small farm in Posey Township, and then sent for his brother and his family to come from Kentucky. Opal Lamberson resently sold the farm and has moved to a retirement center in Richmond. Some of the LAMBERSONs are buried in Bentonville Cemetary, and a few are buried in Cole Cemetary. Any information about the LAMBERSON's would be greatly appreciated.

SCOTT

kenlind@evansville.net Kenneth G. Lindsay Sun, 08 Sep 1996 08:39:14 -0500
My ancestor, Samuel K. SCOTT, lived at, or near, Waterloo before bringing his family to Warrick Co., Indiana. Family tradition has it that he drowned while crossing a swollen stream along the way. He is supposed to have placed some of his children on a horse's back while he clung to the tail. This happened sometime between 1830 & 1840. He is in the 1830 Fayette Co. census, listed between John SCOTT & Robert SCOTT. His wife, Elinor Scott, appears as head of a household in Warrick Co. during the 1840 census. I believe, but can't prove it that Robert SCOTT who died in Fayette Co., about 1831, was his father.

HALSTEAD

icing@together.net Adria Halstead-Johnson Thu, 3 Oct 1996 22:33:52 -0400 (EDT)
I am interested in hooking up with anyone researching HALSTEAD's out of there. My oldest ancestor was Hickson HALSTEAD, born ca 1800 in NY and moved to IN sometime before 1836 has his first child, Delila J. is listed as having been born there. He had a total of nine children: Delila J.; Betsy A.; Thomas J.; Lucinda; George Washington (my ggrandpa); Nancy B.; John A.; Mary P. and Hickson Jr. He actually may have had a tenth as I found a Henry HALSTEAD living with a Milton Leonard in Fayette in the 1850 census and this Henry's age (8yo) puts him smack between Lucinda and George. It is a puzzle......
