Jeremiah REEDY married Emily MERCHANT on Sept.9,1849 :
Iam looking for the war record of Jeremiah REEDY during the Civil
War.He may have served in Co.I, 6th cavalry Indiana.
Also, Jeremiah and his wife are supposed to be buried in Hancock

Looking for info on the WEST Family of Hancock County. My g/grandmother
was Melvina WEST b. 1863; her father was John C. WEST b. 1817 (married to
Karen HENDRICKS - dates unknown) and my ggg/grandfather was Vern S. WEST
b. 1788. Any help you can give me - no matter how remote! Thanks.
Also, my g/grandmother Melvina married Lemuel Wesley TILSON (dates

Andrew JARRETT, b. @ 1814 in Va., came to Hancock Co. IN in the 1830's. He
married Elizabeth MEDARIS March 2, 1837. They divorced August 18, 1848.
They
had the following children:
Marian Jane, b. 1839, married Andrew J. EAKES
James M. , b. 1843 Married Branna E. ?
David C., b. 1846 Married Matilda ?
After 1848 Andrew married Phoebe Jane CHAPMAN(?). They had the following
children:
Benjamin H., b. 1852, married Bertha GROSS
Hiram E., b. 1853, married Rebecca E. RIGG
Mary M.
Hannah C.
Andrew may have been related to Owen JARRETT, Neri JARRETT and Robeson
JARRETT, all of whom came to Hancock Co. from Virginia at about the same time
had purchased land close together. (They were original purchasers of this
land.)

Andrew died in December, 1870 and is buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hancock
Co. After his death, the children seem to have gone to Tipton Co. where they
remained about 10-20 years. After that time, most ended up in Madison Co.
Phoebe is the mystery. I have not been able to find a record of their
marriage. I do not know what happened her after Andrew died. I do not know
where she is buried.. I am also not sure her last name was CHAPMAN. The
1850 census shows Andrew and Phoebe married. Matilda CHAPMAN, widow of both
Elisha CHAPMAN and Joseph CHAPMAN is living with Andrew and Phoebe. If you

Looking for information on Jasper Newton WINGFIELD b. 12 Jul 1841, Greenfield,
Hancock County, Indiana; mar. Margaret Ann BRIDGES, b. 23 Feb 1847, Greenfield.
Know Jasper served with 53rd Regiment, Company A during Civil War and was
wounded and received a pension for his wounds. Had children: Oscar True, Cornell
and Myrtle. Any information on any of these people would be greatly

I am researching the Harrison HUDSON family. Harrison was born
June 1, 1817 in Pa. and died April 8, 1878, in Forteville, Indiana.
He married Caroline FAUSSETT around 1844. His parents George and
Elizabeth were also in the area. George HUDSON died around 1850 to 1860 in
Hamilton Twp. in Hancock County. Harrison HUDSON had brothers and sisters named
Elsey, Isaac, Solomon, Washington, John and George. Harrison probably
had several children, but the only one I know is James HUDSON. Any information
on Harrison HUDSON and/or his ancestors would be greatly appreciated.

Caroline County, MD between 1825 and 1830. They are listed on the 1850
and 1860 censuses in Hancock County. Their children were: Elizabeth (m.

Searching for information concerning the family of Henry
and Magdalene (STALEY) KINDER, who left Wythe County, VA.
about 1830-1840, and settled in Hancock County. Henry had
at least two children; George & Joseph. Henry was said to have been
in the war of 1812 back in VA. It is also said that he died
c. 1840 - 1849, and was buried in Six Mile Cemetery.Would like

on the LOEHR or GODDARD line in Hancock Co, IN.
Commodore Bainbridge (CB) GODDARD married 24 June 1849
Indiana LOEHR in Hancock Co, IN. The LOEHR line appears
to have descended through Jacob LOEHR and Mary LONGLEY/
LANGLEY who were married in Washington Co, VA where their
children were born. By 1840 they came to Hancock Co,IN.
The names of the children are James L., Daniel S.,John S.,
Jacob B., Joseph L., Margaret and Indiana.

I am researching Morris PIERSON This name comes up in the
Susquicentennial History of Greenfield IN. It states he was the first to
settle on what became the town Siter(?) Is this site typo? I have a
letter dated Greenfield 1862 from a Morris PIERSON addressed to a great
uncle in Iowa He addresses him Dear Nephew so we must be related. I have
no idea who he is. Maybe linked through Thompson PARKE.I am trying to
ascertain if he is referring to my great grandfather Martin Jesse
THOMPSON when Morris writes about the Civil War. He states Mart is in the

Albin was born 9/1/1857 in Greenfield, Ind. At a very young age Albin
went to live with his Aunt and Uncle : Susan (LAPORT) AND Robert F.
WALKER. They lived in Cadiz, Ohio which was Roberts home and then in 1866
moved near Oakland, Iowa. Eliza Or Elizabeth married Nate MANSFIELD They
lived in Hand Cty, Dakota Territory in 1888
and had a Daughter Rose. Albin md Addie R. LOWRY and they moved to

in the 1850 Franklin County census. He married Rachael GIBBENS
and they had a son, Calvin. Calvin married Elizabeth C. WISE in
1855. She died in 1870 and is buried at Napoleon, IN.

Looking for any information on Margaret BOLEN who lived in Hancock
County in 1870 with Alfred and Kaziah BOLEN who we believe to be
her parents. Margaret also had two children at the time Nancy Jane
and Charles GRANT. In 1880 they were in Marion Co. Cumberland,
under the name TISHNER, Margaret was listed as a widow in the census
we have not been able to locate a marriage record for a marriage
or a death record for the husband, Rudolph TISHNER. The only reference
we can find on Rudolph is on Nancy Janes marriage application in
Marion County.Would like any information on the parents or siblings
of Margaret
